With the cancellation of his concert and party in Hawaii this weekend, 7-division champion Manny Pacquiao will be heading straight to the Philippines from Los Angeles, California.
Pacquiao, who defended his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title against Joshua Clottey last March 13, is set to arrive in Manila on Monday on board Philippine Airlines flight PR 103.
Malacañang is already planning a grand welcome for the boxing superstar, who will be vying for a congressional seat in the May 10

Judson Richards has been hired to serve as the secondary announcer on Oklahoma City RedHawks ' broadcasts on KTOK-AM 1000 and KEBC-AM 1340.
Besides broadcasting home games with play-by-play announcer Jim Byers, Richards will assist in RedHawks' sales and media relations.
A former first baseman in the San Francisco Giants ' organization, Richards was the play-by-play voice of the San Angelo Colts of the independent United League last season.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Shane Mosley have agreed to undergo Olympic-style drug testing for their May 1 fight in Las Vegas, which they hope will set a new standard for boxing.
Representatives of the fighters joined Travis Tygart of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency on Thursday to discuss the program in a conference call.
Testing has fallen under the jurisdiction of state athletic commissions, in most cases limited to urine testing.

COLLEGE basketball » Fed up by his antics on and off the court, Seton Hall fired basketball coach Bobby Gonzalez on Wednesday after a 19-win season.
The dismissal came roughly 12 hours after the coach known as "Gonzo" endured an 87-69 loss in the opening round of the NIT, a game in which Seton Hall forward Herb Pope was ejected for hitting Texas Tech player Darko Cohadarevic below the belt and Gonzalez picked up his seventh technical foul of the season.
By noon, Gonzo was gone.

GMA Network continues to lead in Mega Manila TV ratings for all weekdays of February, based on figures from the industry's more widely recognized TV ratings data supplier, AGB Nielsen Philippines.

Fight fans that came to the Metroplex over the weekend, but only stopped at Cowboys Stadium Saturday night for Manny Pacquiao versus Joshua Clottey undoubtedly missed the best fight of the weekend.
